An Ariana Grande Song for Literally Every Mood This Quarantine
Updated: Apr 25, 2020
Before we begin, I'd like to say that I am in no way trying to make light of or ignore the seriousness of COVID19. Being able to be home during this time is a privilege and one I don't take for granted. I'm keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers during this time and urge you to stay inside. During times like these, sometimes we need something to distract us from the scary world, and that is all I aim to do. Please stay safe everyone.
Of all the habits I’ve picked up since quarantine, my favorite has been soundtracking my time inside. Particularly, to Ariana Grande. Since being indoors, I’ve listened to her discography to the point that some of her songs have taken on a whole new meaning. Is this healthy? No. But, if you’re looking for an Ari song for how you’re feeling this quarantine, you’ve come to the right place.
One Last Time : Thinking about your last time blacking out at a bar without a care in a world and wishing you could go back just to appreciate it more.
Only 1 : What you tell yourself as you pour yourself a glass of wine at 11 AM (even though you know you’re lying to yourself.)
Break Free : When you’ve been in bed for three days because your blankets won’t let you get up but you know, it’s time.
Successful : For when you do literally anything. At all. Applause for you for moving.
You Don’t Know Me : When your neighbor waves hi to you from their window and you realize you’ve literally never spoken to any of your neighbors. *slowly closes blinds*
Dangerous Woman : When you walk *six feet* away from someone in the supermarket as you all chaotically search for the last family size box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Thinking Bout You : When you daydream about all the good restaurant food you ate, not realizing you’d be forced to eat your own bad cooking for a month.
Last Christmas : The last time things were truly okay.
NASA : When you start realizing how deeply dysfunctional America (and humanity in general) is and you start considering planets to start your new life.
I Don’t Care : When your school is trying to make you complete the rest of your semester online.....in the midst of a pandemic.
Needy : When you Zoom call your friends everyday because you just miss them too much.
Sometimes : How often you answer your boss’s calls.
Everyday : How often you answer your friends calls.
Everytime : How often you answer your Tinder facetime calls.
No Tears Left to Cry : When your vibrator dies and there are no batteries anywhere in the apartment.
Hands on Me : When your love language is physical touch and you just have to hug yourself to fulfill that need.
Fake Smile : When your boss emails you and asks for you to take on more work since we’re all working from home.
Better Left Unsaid : When someone asks you when’s the last time you washed your hair.
Moonlight : When it’s time to get your day started.
The Light Is Coming : The time you consider potentially going to bed.
Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored - When you have run out of people to text and you think that maybe your ex Chad from Sigma Delta Shoe who never uses deodorant may not be such a bad option right now.
In My Head : When you tell a funny joke to your roommate and you both start cracking up. Then realize you have no roommate and you’re talking to your plants.
Let Me Love You : When your cat eventually gets tired of seeing you all the time and starts avoiding you so you give them treats so you can spend time with them.
Bad Idea : When you’re having a stare-down with the giant tub of Nutella you bought at 2 A.M.
Be Alright : When you stop forcing yourself into productivity because this is a global pandemic and the last thing you need to do is put added stress onto yourself if you don’t have to so you try to partake in anything that might make you feel better a.k.a listening to Ariana Grande.
